Creating History
CITERMPCO traces its roots to 1996, when a district supervisor saw the need for a cooperative that could provide reliable financial services for teachers. With an initial ₱500 capital from 97 members, it was officially recognized by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in 1997. Over the years, CITERMPCO has expanded beyond Isulan to serve the entire province of Sultan Kudarat, continuously improving the financial stability and economic well-being of its members.
One of its major initiatives was lowering salary loan interest rates—from 1.75% to 1.50% and further to 1.25% in 2014. This enabled members to pay off debts faster, invest in businesses, and pursue education. Many have benefited from this, such as Mrs. Miraluna Gumayao, who successfully consolidated her high-interest loans, and Ms. Kimberly Caliba, who used a ₱500,000 loan to establish a mushroom and red bell pepper farm, creating jobs and business opportunities in the community.
